What does the course cost?
The Postgraduate Diploma fee including course materials, attendance at seminars, marking of compulsory coursework and the examination is £3920 (VAT Exempt). If you only wish to study the units and do not wish to take the examination or attend the seminars, the fee for this interest only option will be £2920 (VAT Exempt). (Please note you will not gain the award of Postgraduate Diploma with this option).

Book Design Workshop In Conjunction With Brunei Book Fair 2009

Organized by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Brunei In cooperation with ASEAN Book Publisher's Association (ABPA)

INTRODUCTION

As a member of ABPA, Negara Brunei Darussalam has been appointed and given the responsibilities as the Committee of Training and Development to assist in the following:

  • Involvement of ASEAN countries in collaborative exchange and implementation of technical trainings and education.
  • Exchange of seminars and trainings amongst organizations in ASEAN countries and the employers in publishing, distribution, and activities relating to the production of books.

OBJECTIVES OF WORKSHOP

  • To understand the roles of good book designs.
  • To understand the ways of implementing arts and visual works.
  • To conceptualize book design techniques.
  • Book design as a marketing tool.

DAILY SCHEDULE

The workshop will be conducted for 3 days commencing 28 February 2009 until 2 March 2009. It will begin with a briefing session, orientation and the training workshop.

Daily class in the form of a workshop will begin at 8:30am and ends at 12:00pm (morning session) and starts again at 13:30pm and ends at 16:30pm (afternoon session), except on 2 Mac will ends at 12:00 noon.

PARTICIPANTS

The workshop is opened to 50 participants of citizens, permanent residents and expatriates. Priorities will be given to those who have experiences in publishing and designing of books and works related it.

FEE

Each participant will be charged a fee of BND100.00

CEO cum Principal of SCI Print Technology Institute Pte Ltd, Singapore’s first printing institute supported by various Government bodies like SPRING Singapore, Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Work Development Agency (WDA), National Trade Union Congress (NTUC), Print Media Association of Singapore (PMAS), SCI Print is also CaseTrust and ISO accredited.
